Chess is like life, every move (or choice) made, has a consequence. Some moves are good, others not so good. Chess, like life, requires planning and strategy, and sometimes you don't know what will happen in the future, but the choices you made to get you to where you are today.

So...the knights must be riding seahorses? The scales on her fin are gorgeous, and I'm thrilled to see Eigiollys through the creator's eyes (even if only one corner of one room)! ps: those bubbles are incredible!
Now a few more words: This is a great scene. Love the pose, the feeling for colour, softness and detail are remarkable. This picture makes me wonder about the environment however. Is she playing with a chess board on a sunken ship... or are mermaids always 'floating above the chairs'. Would they need chairs? Also the chess board is interesting (which makes me think it's actually NOT a human chessboard) because the squares are diagonally. Mermaids must have a very different way of playing chess than we have.
It's actually an underwater city, built by merpeople for merpeople. The chairs are more for decoration than practical use. The chess set is also of mermish make. I tried to make it a little different, because it seems to me they wouldn't want to do much of anything like humans do.
Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad those little details have been noticed.
Well thought. I don't know how much the mermaids in your world are familiar with humans or not. Because if they have run into them I'm sure they don't want too much to do with them. The fact that the board (and some furnitures, like table, chairs) is alike what we humans have (with some twists) I think they have met them, or their stuff.
